Fighting Infections: Challenges and recent Progress

A British-Scandinavian Meeting in Microbiology

The meeting is organised by three Norwegian societies within microbiology,
in collaboration with colleagues in the other Scandinavian countries. The
organising committee has members from all Scandinavian countries and from
UK. The Norwegian societies are:

1 Norwegian Society for Infectious Diseases, 225 members

2 Norwegian Society for Microbiology, 250 members

3 Norwegian Society for Virology, 70 members

   The total number is 545

 

Annual meetings are held by the first two societies, while the smaller
virology society has meetings every second or third year. Some of the
meetings are joint events. In a number of lectures given both by national
members and speakers invited from abroad, the meetings focus on science,
diagnostics, treatment and prevention of diseases. In addition there are
shorter presentations from various laboratories and research groups. Young
scientists are encouraged to participate.
