Luke John Murphy, Háskóla Íslands
Continuity and Change in the Sacred Social Spaces of the Pre-Christian Nordic World

We are pleased to announce the fifth talk of the semester in the Engir Strengleikar seminar series, run in conjunction with the Medieval Icelandic Studies MA programme at Háskóli Íslands. Thursday's paper will be given by Luke John Murphy, a graduate student at Háskóli Íslands, dealing with the ever-popular and -fascinating subject of pre-Christian religious practice in Scandinavia, specifically the concept of sacred social space. See below for a fuller description.

As always, the talk will be followed by wine (sold at the modest price of 400 ISK).

For more information, contact Viðar Pálsson (vp at hi.is) or Jóhanna Katrín Friðriksdóttir (jkf at hi.is).

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
