Hi all,
Faculty is now having a discussion about the role of faculty coordinator for the graduate students. They want to hear our voices.
For those who began their master or Ph.D. since last August, you should have a coordinator on the contract between you and your supervisor. Now the question is: What do you expect from them?
Here are a few example questions I would like to gather answers:
1. Do you think the role of faculty coordinator is necessary?
2. What should they do as a faculty coordinator?
The current understanding is, the coordinator should help with the conflict between you and supervisor, helping you to find a project (mainly for master students), overseeing the progress of your current project. It this enough?
A more detailed explanation for the role of the faculty coordinator is in the attachment. The English version is google translated, mis-translation is expected.
3. What would you expect from the faculty coordinator?
4. Do you have some problem in your current study/research, that you would like to have a coordinator to help with?
Any comments is welcome. Please send an email to sil10 at hi.is about the problem
Hope you are all doing well on your current study.
Siqi
