              FEMS provides approximately 200 grants for European
Young Scientists to support their attendance at the 5th FEMS
Congress. A special FEMS Congress Award (including a Certificate and
an additional 500 EURO) will be awarded to five European and one
non-European Young Scientists for the best presented papers. Find out

A  concert by St. Thomas Choir in the actual place where Bach worked
– St.  Thomas's Church – is one of the cultural and emotional
highlights of a visit to  Leipzig.

Have you heard about all the wonderful recreational opportunities
available in Leipzig?

With over 120 hectars of woodland, parks, golf courses, rivers, and
canals within the city, and lakes in the southern part, Leipzig
offers a wide range of recreational opportunities. Along with the
Botanical Garden, a special mention must be made of Leipzig Zoo. One
Zoo project which is unique in the world is Pongoland, in which
scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary
Anthropology are studying the behaviour of the great apes in a
close-to-natural environment.
