Hi everybody,

The summer has officially arrived!! Folda&Flóki would like to celebrate a
good ending of this semester with you all in Askja with the following
summer events:

Wednesday: UNIVERSITY RUN 4 o´clock & THE BIKE TO WORK competition starts!!!
Friday: BANDY 9 o´clock at the gym (the last indoor gym class) & SUMMER BBQ
PARTY in Askja 4 o´clock with Scavenger hunt & Hot dog barbecue offered by
Flóki&Folda (*** registration needed, see below)
Monday: outdoor FRISBEE kl.12:20 (East side of Askja)
Tuesday: outdoor KUBB kl. 12:20 (East side of Askja)
Wednesday: SEA SWIMMING in Nauthólsvík kl.16:30

--------UNIVERSITY RUN---------------
We want to encourage you to participate in the run this year!! Some of us
are walking and others are running!! A couple of Flóki&Folda members are
participating this year and we are all meeting at the entrance of Askja -
Wednesday & leaving from there kl.15:55 together to the run. Afterwards we
meet up in the hot-tups in the swimmingpool in Vesturbæjarlaug. If you
haven't already registered you can do that at the gym hall or here (before

--------THE BIKE TO WORK-----------
To celebrate, we in Flóki and Folda are offered to participate in the
annual competition “Bike to work” (hjólað í vinnuna) which starts tomorrow.

The competition is open for everybody who bike, walk or use public
transportation to go to work/school. Skateboarders or people using any
other transportation modes run with their own muscle power are welcomed as
well :) The competition is from May 8th-28th, but nota bene, it's okay to
register even though you don't bike/walk every day. The more the merrier!
However, this can be seen as an encouragement to leave the car at home and
use other methods for going to work/school...

To register each participant has to select the right team.
1. Go to the webpage www.hjoladivinnuna.is
2. Sign in (the yellow button) either via your facebook account or by
establishing a new account
3. Choose the button "liðsstjórnun - skrá lið"
4. Here you need to put the university's kennitala in the column. The
kennitala is 6001692039. Choose Háskóli Íslands – do not choose the Flóki
column there
5. Here you choose our team Folda and you're in!

When this has been done you can sign directly into your account and
register your trips. Each participant is responsible for registering their
own trips, but it’s possible to register many trips at the same time.

Since there are only 10 people allowed into each team, we will have to
register few teams. So just choose the one with spaces available. If there
are not spaces available, feel free to establish new team, simply by
pressing the button “skrá nýtt lið” and name it Flóki2, Flóki 3 etc…

-------SUMMER BBQ PARTY---------
This friday we in Flóki and Folda are planing to invite our members to a
BBQ and to a game of scavanger hunt, that will be played around Askja. We
ask people that are going to participate in the hunt to come at 16 o'clock.
The BBQ will than start at 17:30 o'clock.
The board of Flóki and Folda will offer hot dogs and soda. ***If you want
eat with us, we ask you to send Halldóra an e-mail before 15h wednesday (
hbb11 at hi.is). If you want to have a drink with us after we ask you to BYOB.

-----SEA SWIMMING--------
It's summer! Let's go swim in the sea! Join us in a trip to the thermal
beach at Nauthólsvík for a spot of sea swimming and jacuzzi lounging.
Nauthólsvík will have started their summer timetable by then and so it will
be entirely free and open until 19:00 (every day from 10:00 until August).
The plan is to meet by the main entrance in Askja at 16:30 and then travel
over in a convoy of cars. If you have a car please let us know so we can
arrange other transport if required. If you don't have a car please be very
lovely to your driver and offer to chip in for petrol.If you're worried
about how cold the sea may be, don't be. They have a marginally warmer
lagoon there and nobody will berate you (much) if you just sit in the
jacuzzi and enjoy life the entire time!!
