Dear students!
In the previous years, the Office of International Education
organized horseback riding tours for foreign students and visiting
teachers as part of the programme called "Indroduction to Iceland".
The organisation of the riding trips has now moved to the horse
riding group at the University of Iceland which was founded last
autumn,
In co-operation with Icelandic Travel Horses we are happy to offer
foreign
students and visiting teachers the chance to experience the
Icelandic horse
often referred to as the Icelandic pony.
We have scheduled one trip now on Friday, 23. March, but if there is
a demand for
more then we will simply add more. The minimum number of
participants is 5.
You will be supplied with helmets and proper clothing. In addition,
Icelandic Travel Horses seek to give it's guests guidance and advice
on the
treatment and grooming of the Icelandic horse.
You don´t have to be non-icelandic, everybody is welcome!
Participants will be picked up at 16.30 on the gravel carpark in front
of the university main building and brought back there after the ride.
The riding trip through the valley of Mosfellsdalur will take 2-3
hours. Riding experience is not necessary.
Price: 3500 ISK.
Please register until Thursday, 22nd of April by email: ursula at hi.is
