                research assessment </span></i></b><span
style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;mso-fareast-font-family:"Times

            FI" lang="EN-US">is a four-year research project financed by
            the Academy of Finland. This project will investigate
            characteristics of the individuals and the mechanisms
            generating the online attention some scientific publications
            receive and with that, provide a better understanding of the
            applicability of altmetrics for research assessment.</span></p>

          style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;

            style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;

            mso-fareast-language:FI" lang="EN-US">The person chosen to
            the position is expected to have a) a PhD in information
            science, sociology of science, statistics, computer science,
            or in a field related to the topics of the project, b)
            strong skills in quantitative methods, c) the ability to
            conduct independent scholarly work and d) publications on
            the topics related to the project. The applicants are
            expected to have good written and verbal command of English.
            Experience in quantitative social science research, social
            network analysis, and use of large bibliometric and/or
            altmetric datasets, and interest in scholarly communication
            and open science, are seen as advantages.</span></p>

            accordance with the University salary system for teaching
            and research personnel levels 5–6 where the work-specific
            salary component is between 2967,84–3460,91 euro/month. The
            component based on personal performance adds 6–50 % to this
            salary. There will be a trial period of six months.</span></p>
