            kinds of altmetric-related research have you been thinking
            about or working on? altmetrics20 encourages you to
            contribute to the workshop by submitting altmetric-related
            research focusing on the current state of altmetrics as it
            relates to the global, political, social, and economic
            changes we are all experiencing. This will allow us to
            simultaneously discuss  the state of the art of research in
            altmetrics and social media-based metrics as well as to
            speak to the global, political, social, and economic changes
            we are witnessing. Together with the workshop participants,
            we would like to reflect on current research approaches as
            well as to look at future horizons of altmetrics research

            are soliciting empirical and theoretical contributions for
            short presentations and as a basis for discussions, which
            will be the main focus of the altmetrics20 workshop. </span><span

            submissions could be of any of the following types: <b>Short
              papers, lightning talks or posters</b>.<b> </b></span><span
style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;color:rgb(34,34,34)">Submissions
            can focus on empirical analyses, novel theoretical
            frameworks, original datasets or represent a position paper.
            The goal of the workshop is to discuss, exchange, and foster
            collaboration on social media metrics and altmetrics. While
            a short paper is not a requirement to attend the workshop,
            we strongly encourage prospective participants to submit a
            contribution to seed the discussions. The organizers will
            give priority to submissions linking to original research
            artifacts and bearing potential for deeper reflection on
            altmetrics use and research.   </span><span

            has teamed up with Journal of Altmetrics to consider all

            completing a review process by the journal and complying
            with required revisions) in a special issue in the Journal
            of Altmetrics if the authors agree, otherwise they will be
            made available via the workshop website.</span><span

            Journal of Altmetrics is an Open Access Journal, sponsored
            by the Levy Library at Mount Sinai, and currently waives
            authors’ fees for publications. All papers receive a DOI and
            are tracked for impact metrics. Authors of selected papers
            from the altmetrics20 workshop will be asked to provide an
            extended version of their short paper, which will then be
            re-reviewed and published in a special issue dedicated to
