<b>Goals: <br>
</b>At the end of the workshop the students will have knowledge about how they can benefit from the research and development in the area of digital libraries as well as have ideas about how their PhD research can contribute to this domain.<br><br>
<b>Learning outcomes:<br>
</b>The students will learn about digital libraries in general, and gain special knowledge about how independent digital libraries can interact. Interoperability on several levels will be explained, with special focus on Open Arcives Initiative and interoperable search. Real life examples of open Digital Library systems will be demonstrated and discussed.<br><br>

The applicants will receive notification of acceptance/rejection by 5 September 2007 by e-mail. <br><br>
<b>Credits: <br>
</b>The workshop seminar is accredited 3 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). Note: Final credits are decided by the person in charge of the local PhD program. <br><br>
<b>How to apply</b>: <br>
Participants are asked to submit an extended abstract (max 1200 words) of the topic(s) of her/his ongoing or completed research. The application should also include a brief CV. This information will be used for selection purposes.<br><br>
The application should be electronically submitted in Word or RTF-format to Professor Ingeborg Torvik Sølvberg (ingeborg.solvberg@idi.ntnu.no) by 20. August 2007.<br><br>
