Multiple positions in Informatics specialising in design!

The School of Business and Informatics at University of Borås, Sweden,
continues to build a strong environment for research and education in
Informatics as a design discipline with four more positions for
promising academics. 

Now we are looking for
* One Full Professor in Informatics
* One Senior Lecturer in Informatics
* Two PhD-students in Informatics

Efforts in developing Informatics
University of Borås puts a lot of emphasis on becoming acknowledged as
Sweden*s first University of Profession. In this effort investments
are made into research and education tightly related to different
professions. Informatics at University of Borås is recognized as one
strategic area essential for the development of University of Borås.
Informatics has a strong engagement in several educational programs as
well as in research projects in close co-operation with industry and
government.

Graduate School of Informatics
The post-graduate education is organized through the newly started
Graduate School of Informatics. The Graduate School of Informatics
brings together a comprehensive coverage of highly critical areas of
information systems and informatics. Building upon collaboration with
Jönköping International Business School and Halmstad University,
University of Borås offers a home for forward-thinking graduate
students
seeking a dynamic research environment that targets the international
scene. In this collaboration the additional professor being recruited
to
Borås will play a central role, together with other
professors in the network, of forming the future of the Graduate
School
of Informatics.

Informatics in Borås
Informatics in Borås is practice-oriented and relies on applied
procedures for developing professional knowledge. Nternationally
informatics is closely related to information systems design. In Borås
informatics is oriented towards co-design by focusing the involvement
of
stakeholder and expert views in the design of IT solutions as an
integrated part of businesses and organisations. The School of
Business
and Informatics has also established the InnovationLab with eight
positions as system developers (supertechs) in order to enable the
design of and studies of advanced IT solutions not yet on the market.
Informatics, which is being developed strongly, employs one full time
professor, one part-time professor, one associate professor, 15
lecturers (eight of which holds PhD degrees) and seven PhD students
(four of them employed as professional doctorates). Informatics is
also
a key partner in the interdisciplinary Center for Collaborative
Innovation with 10 senior and 10 junior researchers.

The School of Business and Informatics is now expanding with
* One Full Professor in Informatics, specialising in the design of IT
systems for business practices.

* One Senior Lecturer in Informatics, specialising in systems
development for business practices.

* Two PhD-students in Informatics, specialising in the design of IT
systems for business practices.
