[NORSLIS] The Nordic and Baltic Landscape of LIS: A Co-word Analysis of research in the NORSLIS network

Dear Colleague,

Your are invited to take part in the project: The Nordic and Baltic 
Landscape of LIS: A Co-word Analysis of research in the NORSLIS network. 
This is a collaborative project including potentially all Nordic and 
Baltic researchers in the NORSLIS network.

The project has three goals:
1. Map the landscape of LIS research in the Nordic and Baltic countries 
using co-word analysis.
2. Test the potential of collaborative writing and the wisdom of crowds 
e.g. “Wiki”-research.
3. Emphasize the Nordic and Baltic cooperation in LIS (NORSLIS).

The project will result in a paper submission to ISSI 2009 conference 
(deadline 19th Jan, 2009) and later a paper submission to a selected 
journal.

First we would be grateful if You could index your own research using 
keywords that you find suitable (e.g. public libraries, information 
retrieval, discourse analysis, bibliometrics, ...). This data will be 
used for co-word maps of LIS research in NORSLIS and the member 
departments. Please send the keywords of your research together with 
information from which department you come from to kim.holmberg [at] 
abo.fi or bjorn.hellqvist [at] abm.uu.se. Deadline for sending keywords 
is 12.12.2009.

In writing the article on the “landscape of LIS research” all 
NORSLIS-members will be potential authors. We will be writing the 
article in a wiki where all researchers that want to participate can 
contribute to the article. All NORSLIS researchers (seniors, post-docs, 
Phd-students, ...) that want to participate will be given access to the 
wiki where you are welcome to write and re-write the article. Everybody 
that participates in the writing will be named as authors of the paper. 
When you send us your keywords, please also state if you would be 
interested in participating in writing the paper and we will send you an 
invitation to the wiki.

If you have comments or suggestions about the project you can share them 
in the discussions in the wiki. You can find the wiki at:
