Dear NORSLIS PhD students,
There is still room for some more PhD students at Workshop I in Turku on
June 7-8. We especially welcome students from other Nordic countries and
the Baltic states. The workshop, although named "Health and Information
Mastering", is not meant solely for those doing research about health or
medical information, but for all who are doing research on topics which
can be applied also on health contexts such as (but not limited to):
• Information access and control
• Accuracy and currency of information
• Difficulty in mastering information, e.g. interpretation of
scientific data and other kinds of barriers
• Quality aspects of information provision from authorities, for
instance inappropriate audience or context
• Potential for source bias, source distortion, and self-serving
information
• Uneven distribution of information: unavailability of certain
services or products under different conditions
• The impact of various factors for example social, cognitive and
cultural on peoples information behavior and knowledge construction
• Information management.
Take the opportunity to visit Turku at its best in June, and send your
abstract as soon as possible to:
kristina.eriksson-backa at abo.fi
Best regards,
on behalf of the workshop organizers,
Kristina Eriksson-Backa
