the Institute of Library and  Information Science at Vilnius University
together with the Ministry of
Culture of the Republic of Lithuania organize an international
scientific conference /Communication of memory in archives, libraries
and museums: the interaction of science, policy and practice /in
Vilnius, 4-5 October 2007 (for all conference details see
http://www.kf.vu.lt/atmintis/).


*The aim* of the conference is to promote *collaboration *and
*integration* of the Baltic region countries into digital space and
networks by researching, digitizing and presenting cultural heritage,
tied by similar historical memory.


The main topics of the conference are:

* *

      * Digitization policy, strategy and results;
      * Digital documentation, research and preservation of cultural
        heritage;
      * Historical memory, cultural heritage and communication of identity;
      * Experiences of the cultural heritage projects.

   Scholars, policy-makers, memory institutions’ practitioners, other
professional groups concerned with the cultural heritage are welcome.

Call for paper and registration of participants are open.
