Dear doctoral students and colleague researchers,
The second stop of the NORSLIS roadshow on 'Studying the Web and its
use' takes place in Oslo, September 27-28 (the first roadshow stop was
in Tallinn, March 30-31).
The aim of the roadshow is to present new developments in Web studies
including research on user-created web spaces (e.g., blogs, wikis,
social bookmarking and folksonomies), users' seeking behaviour on the
Web, as well as statistical methods for measuring web phenomena, also
known as webometrics.
The road show is placed in connection with the 11th Nordic Bibliometric
Workshop, September 28-29, Oslo. (The road show ends at 12.15 on
September 28 as the Workshop starts at 13.00).
We want to stress the opportunity on the second day of the roadshow on
Thursday, September 28, for PhD students to discuss and receive feedback
on Web-related aspects (not necessarily main aspects) in their PhD
projects. Please note that Ph.D. students who want to participate on the
second day should register by e-mail to Dr. Nils Pharo
(nils.pharo at jbi.hio.no) already on July 1, 2006 at the latest.
