Deadline for proposals April 15th 2006
http://www.ffos.hr/lida/phd/

PhD forum shall be organized at LIDA 2006 where posters dealing with
students' particular thesis topic can be exhibited. These are not
restricted to the core topics of the conference. Students at any stage
of their PhD are encouraged to apply: the forum is an ideal place for
presenting research in the early or planning stages, as well as work
that is nearing completion.

This doctoral forum is organised by PhD students for PhD students and is
a unique opportunity to present your research in a supportive
environment to an international audience of students, researchers and
practitioners.

Students interested in participating in the LIDA 2006 PhD forum should
submit a 1000-1500 word position paper or report which will appear both
on the LIDA website so that it could be read in advance by interested
parties and in the conference proceedings. Application is closing April
15th and notification is by May 1st.

All the PhD posters enter a competition for the best poster award, which
includes an annual ASIS&T membership and free registration for next LIDA!

All submissions should be made to: lida at ffos.hr

LIDA 2006 CONFERENCE
====================

The general aim of the annual conference and course Libraries in the
Digital Age (LIDA), started in 2000, is to address the changing and
challenging environment for libraries and information systems and
services in the digital world, with an emphasis on examining
contemporary problems, advances and solutions. Each year a different and
‘hot’ theme is addressed, divided in two parts; the first part covers
research and development and the second part addresses advances in
applications and practice. LIDA seeks to bring together researchers,
practitioners, and developers in a forum for personal exchanges,
discussions, and learning, made easier by being held in memorable locations.

Themes LIDA 2006

Part I. Cultural, social and institutional effects and place of digital
libraries.

Part II. Building a digital library for children and young adults

LIDA 2006 Guest of Honour
Professor Jack Meadows
