<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:6.0pt'>Saga rjúpnarannsókna við
Náttúrufræðistofnun Íslands spannar um 60 ár. Frumkvöðull rjúpnarannsókna var
Finnur Guðmundsson, fuglafræðingur. Rannsóknirnar hafa snúist um tvo
meginþætti, annars vegar að vakta stofnin og hins vegar að reyna að skýra
reglubundnar stofnsveiflur rjúpunnar. Megináherslan hefur verið á vöktun
rjúpnastofnsins, en þar er aflað gagna sem eru grunnur veiðiráðgjafar
Náttúrufræðistofnunar til Umhverfisráðuneytis. Í fyrirlestrinum verður fjallað
stuttlega um sögu rjúpnarannsókna og síðan verður gerð nánari grein fyrir
niðurstöðum rannsókna á samspili fálka og rjúpu og hugsanlegu hlutverki fálkans
í stofnsveiflu rjúpunnar.<o:p></o:p></p>
