<p>Lyme borreliosis is the most commonly diagnosed tick-borne infection in Europe and North America. The ecology of the causal organisms is complex and many gaps in our knowledge must be filled before satisfactory risk assessments and preventive measures can be implemented. These presentations will address the most important issues that still remain in diagnosis and treatment of the disease and in the ecology of Lyme borreliosis spirochaetes.</p>
