Hi

This is meant for those of you who are focusing on geochemistry and
are registering for classes next year, and feel that there are
insufficient variety of courses.

According to "Kennsluskrá 2012-13" there basically are no courses
for geochemistry students. However there are three courses listed
in "kennsluskrá" but I have no idea whether they are just recurring
from last year's "kennsluskrá" or what. But these courses are:

JAR112F - Analytical geochemistry 2
JAR214F - Aqueous chemistry
JAR215F - Modelling in geochemistry

As these are the only courses that I know of that are specific for
geochemistry. If you know of any others feel free to share.
Analytical geochemistry and modelling are taught on individual basis
and therefore should be taught even though only one student
registers. This however was not the case last year, I do not know
why and the department never issued why.

I would also like to encourage those of you that need to fill your
quota of credits, that you do not compromise and register for
courses taught by the department of geosciences just to get credits.
You might want to take a look at some of the courses available at
the department of chemistry, for example

Physical chemistry 1

Inorganic chemistry 1 (and maybe 2)

Other departments might as well have courses that are much more
useful for you.

I hope to hear from those of you that feel the need for proper
courses in geochemistry.

regards.
Bjarni
