Friday today at 12:30 in the seminar room on the 3rd floor with a
presentation given by:



*Ólafur Ingólfsson* *‘Younger Dryas-Holocene glacial advance in NE
Spitsbergen - climate controlled, or glacial system tuning to Holocene
mode?’*



Over the past three years intensive field studies have been carried out on
Svalbard for highlighting the Holocene history of Svalbard glaciers and ice
caps. This talk will give a brief overview of the project, and highlight
with a case study results that suggest many Svalbard glaciers reached their
Holocene maximum extension in early Holocene, rather than during the late
Holocene Little Ice Age.
