Wanted to highlight two talks next Monday:

Roger Buck, a research professor from Columbia University will present his
latest research on "A mechanical model for seaward dipping reflectors plus
a way to reconcile
rift propagation with mantle plumes initiating continental breakup" at
11:00 in Askja's 3rd floor meeting room.

Sydney Gunnarson will defend her Masters at 16:00 in Askja Rm. 129 on "Loftslag
á nútíma og þróun landslags á miðhálendi Íslands." (roughly translates to
changes in climate during the Holocense in the central highlands of
Iceland)
