Stjórnartíðindi / Board news

Nú þegar haustið er gengið í garð með nýju skólaári er rétt að minna á  
Foldu og komandi störf þess.

Næstkomandi fimmtudag mun fyrsti fyrirlestur í Fyrirlestraröð Foldu,  
verða haldinn. Hefst hann kl. 12.20 í sal Jarðvísindastofnunar og  
fyrirlesari vikunnar er Stefan Wenau, Meistaranemi við Háskólann í  
Bremen. Mun hann fjalla um rannsóknarverkefni sitt, Effects of  
seawater components on basalt dissolution rates (á ensku). Frekari  
upplýsingar um fyrirlestraröð verða birtar fljótlega.

Á áætlun er að halda kynningarfund fyrir BS nema, fyrir alla nemendur  
Jarðvísindadeildar (Foldu og Fjallið) og mun tilkynning um nákvæmari  
stað og stund koma á næstunni. Hugmyndir eru þó uppi um að halda hann  
í næstu viku (2. október)

The first Folda seminar in the Folda seminar series will be this  
Thursday at 12.20 in the IES Seminar room, 3rd floor of Askja. Stefan  
Wenau, MSc student in Marine Geosciences, University of Bremen will  
talk about his research: Effects of seawater components on basalt  
dissolution rates (in english). More information on the Folda seminar  
series will be published soon.

The plan is to have a introduction night for the undergraduates on  
Folda and graduate studies at the Universty. The purpose is mainly to  
bring together all the students at the Department of Earth Sciences.  
The exact date is not yet clear, but we hope it will be in next week  
(2nd of October).
