Hello!

My name is Sven-Erik Enno and I am a 23-year old geography student from
Tartu University, Estonia. I am writing to you, because I have always been
very interested in your country and my geology studyes in university has
only made me more interested. As I read from your University website, you
have well-developed department of geosciences also. So it will be pleasure
to me to develop some contacts with you university geosciences department
and its students.

I have also some friends from geography department of Tartu University,
who are also very interestid in contacts with Iceland University
geoscience students. We have a plan to visit Iceland maybe in March, but
not as ordinary tourists. As we have more specific interests about
volcanic rocks, glaciers, soils, landcover and climate, it will be
pleasure to us to visit your University and meet young geoscience students
form your country. I think they are best ones to show us interesting
places and answer our questions about Iceland geology and geography.

If you are interested about the idea that we will visit your University,
then we are also ready to make some presentations about Estonia for your
students (in English) if we come. It will be pleasure to show pictures and
tell something of Estonian geology and nature to your students. And if
some of you find some time for us if we come, then of course, some
students from Iceland University are welcomed to visit Estonian young
geographers. In summer we can then organize some of your students a trip
in Estonia. I think tehere are enaough interesting geological features for
your students in Estonia. For example, a lot of sedimentary rocks from
Ediacara to Devonian are well-represented in Estonia. Some of them make
tens of meters high walls along the northern coast of Estonia and in
Southern Estonia river valleys also. So all different layers and strata
are visible together and many ancient fossils are easy to find.

So can you give me some contacts from your University, if you know someone
who will be interested in contacts with our students. In Tartu we have
young geography students organization EGEA-Tartu and I am also member of
it. So if you have some kind of similar organization in Iceland, some
official contacts can maybe developed between our and your young
geoscience students.

Best wishes,
Sven-Erik Enno
Geography student from Tartu University,
Estonia
