a unique issue-oriented <A
href="http://www.international.ualberta.ca/students/study/prospective/isp/">International
Summer School Program</A> (ISP) in <B><SPAN style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold">Canadian
and Native Studies</SPAN></B>, which incorporates classroom learning with a
series of experiential learning activities and field trips. The six week
ISP has tied together academic courses, encompassing historical and contemporary
content, with real-world activities that are engaging and fun. This is a
destination education experience packaged with student service in mind.
Participants will challenge their understanding of Canadian society through a
diversity of experiences and will discover what it means to be Canadian.
The program will run from July 1 – </SPAN></FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">August 13, 2005</SPAN></FONT><FONT
face=Arial size=2><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">.</SPAN></FONT></P>

taught in both of </SPAN></FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Canada</SPAN></FONT><FONT face=Arial
size=2><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">’s official
languages. Students may choose from Canadian, Francophone or Native
Studies courses in a variety of contexts. Academic offerings in the ISP
are required programming in several of our undergraduate degrees, so Canadian
students will be sharing in, and contributing to, the learning

in Canadian funds is $3966. This amount includes tuition fees for two,
three credit hour courses; textbooks for two courses; shared, double occupancy
accommodation; food; medical/health insurance; and the application fee.
