It's time for the very last buffalo of this semester!

Next Friday we'll be visiting the aluminium factory at Straumsvík. You
don't have to worry how to get there, since we are all going there by
bus. It will take us to the factory and then back to the city. There
will be an additional fee for the bus that will be disclosed very
soon, but rest assured that the price will be kept to a minimum. Given
past experiences, we'll need you to transfer the fee for the bus to
our bank account before the trip, or bring the money with you.

There are a few rules that the good people at Alcan asked us to tell
you about. Due to security measure you can't bring a: watch, credit
card or a camera inside the compound. There's no smoking and you can't
be intoxicated when you enter the area (that means both alcohol and
any sort of illegal narcotics). If they find anyone to be under the
influence they'll send that person home. Don't worry though, after
we've taken a tour around the factory area we'll go to their visitors
center and receive some refreshments. They kindly ask that people wear
trousers (síðbuxur) and closed shoes. Please note, that people who
have a cardiac stimulater or artificial pacemaker (hjartagangráður),
as well as pregnant women, can't enter the manufacturing factory due
to a magnetic field.

The tour at the factory will start at 16.30, so the bus will very
likely depart around 16.00. We're still working out the details
regarding our transportation, but we will let you know as soon as
everything is finalized.

After the buffalo, we will head (as always) to our home pub and let a
little loose before exam jitters start to crawl to the surface.
