Hee Haw,

We have the newest of the news for you


but let’s start up by thanking those of you who showed up for the epic
Oktoberfestivities. It is true that, our beloved BOG won both of the
competitions that really mattered; the best Moustache and the most
German-looking costume for a girl, so congratz are in order.

For those of you who still haven’t gotten your BOG-card but have ordered
and paid for, some of the board members will be handing those out between
13:15 and 14:50 on Tuesday in the Coffee Room in Nýji-Garður.

Now on to the good stuff. On Friday October 8th at 17:30 sharp, we will go
to the zoo! Erm
 well at least the Icelandic equivalent of it, namely the
Family- and Lifestock Park (Fjölskyldu- og Húsdýragarðinn) in Laugardalur,
a kind of an Animal Farm (within the city). This is a Buffalo though I
will be very surprised if we were to see one there. Due to the “nature” of
this kind of trip, alcohol will not be served to us, although we are
allowed (and the BOG-board expects you) to bring our own to drink while we
are there and before we head downtown to get properly “fed”.

You will need to sign up for this trip by sending us (bog_hi at hotmail.com)
your name and stating that you are doing so because you want to be a part
of this trip. If you are a BOG member this will be free but for those who
haven’t signed up for a card (there is still time though), will have to
pay the lump sum of 1000 Icelandic Kronas.  Once again, we will meet at
the front gate of the park at 17:30 sharp (with our own beverages). For
those who can’t make it for the trip, we will be heading to our home-pub
Faktorý afterwards where we will have our usual specials on drinks, and
you are welcome to join us there.
