Subject: Undergraduate Research in Iceland

Hello!

My name is Kirstin Striker and I am currently an undergraduate student at
the University of New Hampshire in America. I am applying for an
International Research Opportunity, a grant which allows students to conduct
research overseas. I would like to go to Iceland and explore the field of
travel writing by exploring Iceland and its culture and then keeping a
travelogue. This would be in the summer of next year, 2009, from somewhere
in June to August. For this program, I need a mentor -- a contact person --
both at the university at home and also in Iceland. My mentor at home,
Andrew Merton, suggested the University of Iceland and seeing if anyone
would be interested there. I got in touch with the university and they led
me to the English department.
Is there any way you would perhaps be interested? The information about the
program is located on this page:
http://www.unh.edu/undergrad-research/irop.html
If you are in any way interested, I am coming to Reykjavik for 2 days this
week -- Friday and Saturday. I could, if you wanted, meet with you to
discuss this in detail.
If you have any questions, please ask!
Thank you for your time :)

Kirstin Striker
