CONFERENCE 

May 26-29, 2005 Växjö University, Sweden
Call for Papers
The 2005 NAAS conference will be held at Växjö University May 26-29, 2005,
in co-operation with Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, the
Swedish Emigrant Institute in Växjö and the Swedish Association for American
Studies. 

The call for papers has been extended to September 20, 2004!

This call for papers invites suggestions for workshops and individual papers
in all areas that can be accommodated under the title of American Studies!
The purpose of the broad theme is to be as inclusive as possible, and to
make possible a survey of the broad spectrum of research and teaching
projects which exist in such varied areas as (but not limited to)
literature, English language, history, political science, film and media,
pedagogy, ethnology, religion, economy, and geography, and multidisciplinary
approaches such as queer studies, and gender studies.

Proposals for the NAAS conference should be sent to the program committee by
September 20, 2004 at the following address:

All proposals will be considered and the conference committee will announce
its selection and publish themes for workshops following its meeting at the
end of September. During the course of the semester, information regarding
registration and accomodation will be published at this website. Please note
that to participate in the conference you need to be a member of an American
Studies association.

Växjö is located in Småland in south central Sweden in the midst of the
Swedish crystal kingdom, with convenient and frequent rail and air
connections throughout Scandinavia.
